How long does it take for new accounts to be activated?
We have instant activation setup for all packages and your new account details will be sent to the email address provided during the signup process within 15 minutes so long as there are no problems with the information provided.

Can I host adult related material on your network?
We allow mild adult content on our network. If you have any doubts that your site will meet our requirements, please email sales [@] slhost.com.

Why should I signup for your hosting services?
Slhost.com is a low cost web hosting provider with all of the necessary tools to make it easier for you to build an online presence whether your needs are personal or business related.
How do I move my domain name to slhost.com?
If you have already registered your domain name elsewhere and you have only signed up for a hosting account with slhost.com, you can contact your current registrar and have them change your nameservers to the following:
ns1.slhost.com
ns2.slhost.com
By doing this, you are saying that you want to point your domain name at our DNS servers, which in turn will point your domain name to the correct IP within our network
Can I change my domain name?
Yes, you may change your domain name at any time and you can do this by opening a support ticket.
Do I have to transfer my domain name to you?
No, you are not required to transfer your domain name to us. If you are perfectly happy with your current registrar, you can either use their DNS servers or you can contact them to change your nameservers to the following:
ns1.slhost.com
ns2.slhost.com
By doing this, you are saying that you want to point your domain name at our DNS servers, which in turn will point your domain name to the correct IP within our network
If I register my domain name with you, who owns it?
You, the client, will have rights to the domain name if registered through our domain name registration services.
What domain name extensions can I host with slhost.com?
You are able to host any domain name extensions on our servers.
Do you support Java Servlets or JSP?
No, we do not currently support Java Servlets or JSP on our shared server environments as we have not found a stable solution for doing so.
Do you support ASP?
No, we do not support ASP at this time. ASP is primarily a scripting language designed for Windows platforms and we run all Linux platforms. We do recognize the fact that there are options out there that provide some ASP functionality on Linux platforms, but have found those options to be insufficient for the true ASP programmer. We recommend an alternative scripting language like PHP for Linux platforms.
Do you allow SSH access?
Yes, we allow SSH access in a jailed enviroment for security purposes. You can request SSH access by opening a support ticket and having one of our technicians assist.
Do you allow telnet access?
No, we do not allow telnet access for security purposes. We allow SSH access in a jailed enviroment, which is a secure form of telnet. You can request SSH access by opening a support ticket and having one of our technicians assist.
Can I stream multimedia content?
Yes, you are able to stream multimedia content via HTTP streaming.
