Acceptable Use Policy
By using our services, you agree to comply
with our policies. We expect you to have a
basic knowledge of how the Internet
functions, the types of uses which are
generally acceptable, and the types of uses
which are to be avoided. Common sense is the
best guide as to what is considered
acceptable use. The following are
unacceptable uses: Illegality in any form,
including but not limited to activities such
as unauthorized distribution or copying of
copyrighted software, harassment, fraud,
drug dealing, hardcore adult content (legal content allowed on VPS only), and other illegal activities.
Interpretation
The provisions of this Policy are intended
as guidelines and are not meant to be
exhaustive. Generally, conduct that violates
law, regulation, or the accepted norms of
the Internet community, whether or not
expressly mentioned in this Policy, is
prohibited. Slhost.com reserves the right
at all times to prohibit activities that
damage its commercial reputation and
goodwill, which includes termination of services provided at any time.
Illegal Use
Slhost.com services may be used only for
lawful purposes. Transmission, distribution
or storage of any material in violation of
any applicable law or regulation is
prohibited.
System and Network Security
Violations of system or network security are
prohibited, and may result in criminal and
civil liability. Examples include, but are
not limited to the following: unauthorized
access, use, probe, or scan of a systems
security or authentication measures, data or
traffic. Interference with service to any
user, host or network including, without
limitation, mail bombing, flooding,
deliberate attempts to overload a system and
broadcast attacks. Slhost.com has a "zero
tolerance" policy regarding Denial of
Service Attacks. Slhost.com reserves the
right to terminate any Hosting account or
Dedicated or Managed Server or Co-Location
account which has been the target of a
Denial of Service or similar type attack.
No Slhost.com account may be
used for:
- Email spamming
- IRC Hosting or Services of any kind
- Warez, Hackz or Serialz sites.
- Illegal content or activities
- Any other type of high packet load or
disruptive network traffic
- Ask before you attempt something
questionable, it will save us all a lot of
trouble.
Spamming
Directly or indirectly transmitting or
supporting the transmission of unsolicited
mail messages, including, without
limitation, commercial advertising and
informational announcements, is expressly
prohibited. A user shall not use another
site's mail server to relay mail without the
express permission of the site.
Charges
All recurring charges shall be due and payable in advance on the day of the month you signed up on for every month of the year. Invoices or notices of invoices for recurring charges are issued as a courtesy.
Non-recurring charges including excess bandwidth usage and overages will be due and payable upon Customer’s receipt of invoice or notice of invoice. Customer is responsible for monitoring transfer or bandwidth consumption and other services provided while maintaining awareness of the applicable charges due. Bandwidth overages are charged at $1 per each GB used over the allowed limit of the package. Bandwidth for VPS packages is monitored at the network interface card while bandwidth for dedicated servers is monitored at the switch port. Bandwidth usage shown in control panels (i.e. Cpanel) is not an accurate number for total data transfer and should not be used to compare with the actual usage.
Consequences of Violation
When Slhost.com becomes aware of an
alleged violation of its Acceptable Use
Policy, Slhost.com will initiate an
investigation. During the investigation
Slhost.com may restrict Customer's access
in order to prevent further possible
unauthorized activity. Depending on the
severity of the violation, Slhost.com may,
at its sole discretion, restrict, suspend,
or terminate Customer's account and/or
pursue other civil remedies. If such
violation is a criminal offense,
Slhost.com will notify the appropriate law
enforcement department of such violation.
Slhost.com does not issue service credits
for any outages incurred through service
disablement resulting from Policy
violations.
Modification
Slhost.com reserves the right to add,
delete, or modify any provision of this
Policy at any time without notice.

30 Day Money Back Guarantee
We feel strongly that you will be happy with the services provided and include an unconditional 30 day money back guarantee on your hosting fees. If you are not completely satisfied with our services in the first 30 days, we will issue a full refund for your paid hosting fees. There are no money back guarantees for dedicated servers.
Fees paid that are not covered in the 30 day money back guarantee include:
- Domain Registration/Transfer Fees
- Setup fees if applicable
- Programming fees
- Dedicated Servers
Backups
Select Solutions, LLC is in no way responsible for data loss or money lost due to loss of data. While we strive to keep all data backed up on a daily basis for emergency use in the event of hardware failure or similar situation, there may be certain conditions or events that could cause problems with our backup process and we urge clients to keep their own backups.
Cancellation / Termination
All cancellation requests must be received via the ticket system by logging into your client area at https://secure.slhost.com . You may also email billing@slhost.com for cancellation requests but we may require further verification when doing so. Cancellations must be made prior to the next billing cycle. Payments made up to the point of cancellation cannot be refunded unless the client is within the 30 day money back guarantee period.
Select Solutions, LLC (http://www.slhost.com) reserves the right to terminate any client or account at it's sole discretion without notice.
Service Level Agreement
Slhost.com offers a 99.9% network uptime Service Level
Agreement and service credits will be applied
if requested and the following criteria is met (Slhost.com is not responsible for money lost due to downtime):
- Request for service credit must be issued via ticket system
within 7 days of the reported incident.
- You must include a ticket number referencing acknowledgement of
the incident to show that you were affected.
Slhost.com utilizes a 100% Cisco network
consisting of dual Cisco 12008 routers
handling the edge routing, dual Cisco 7513
routers handling core routing, and dual
Cisco 5513s handling distribution. All Cisco
equipment is powered by dual DC power
supplies which we keep in stock. Each router
is fed by totally diverse DC plants.
Currently Slhost.com utilizes bandwidth
from Level (3) (NASDAQ: LVLT) and Time
Warner Telecom (NASDAQ: TWTC). Both
connections are fed via diverse entrance and
diverse routes.
